TYPE O NEGATIVE Drummer's LED ZEPPELIN Cover Band To Play NYC Next Week
August 4, 2006TYPE O NEGATIVE drummer Johnny Kelly will be performing with his LED ZEPPELIN cover band EARL'S COURT on Friday, August 11 at the Pussycat Lounge in New York City.
Commented Kelly: "The Pussycat Lounge is a strip club in lower Manhattan. There's another part of the club where they have live entertainment. The show is scheduled to begin around 10pm and our set is scheduled to begin at midnight. The admission is $10. Not a lot of money when you consider all the entertainment available to you. If you've been thinking of checking out an EARL'S COURT show, I think that this may be the one that you should come to. It's gonna be a great night guaranteed!"
As previously reported, TYPE O NEGATIVE's first-ever live DVD, "Symphony for the Devil", sold more than 4,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release in April 2006 to debut at No. 8 on Billboard's Top Music Video Chart.
TYPE O NEGATIVE recently entered the studio to begin recording their long-awaited new album, tentatively due before the end of the year via SPV Records. The band, whose first LP, "Slow, Deep and Hard", was issued in 1991, fulfilled their contractual obligations to longtime label Roadrunner with the release of 2003's "Life Is Killing Me". That album debuted on The Billboard 200 chart at No. 39 in June 2003 after registering a first-week sales tally of 27,000 copies. TYPE O NEGATIVE's best-selling album to date is 1994's "Bloody Kisses", which has shifted around a million copies in the U.S.
